What I have learned #2 (Being a bit MEAN)

As I was going through the Devslopes course (made by Mark Price and team on Udemy). I came across a section that used pre-made API (made using MongoDB, NodeJS, ES6 and Express). For me being a new developer that was impossible to digest. What in the world is an API and how am I supposed to understand it. The videos in the course were quite explanatory but remember I am just a Freshmen Year CS Student who is just good at nothing but logical problem solving. So I started drifting across the web for guides and tutorials. I knew JavaScript which turned out great for me. I started out with searching stuff Google which gave me nothing but a lot of information which is too hazardous (things that will scare me away from coding) for me.Then on YouTube and came across The Net Ninja YouTube Channel which helped me a lot to start learning API development and how it works.

I did went through three playlists:

  1. The MongoDB Playlist
  2. The NodeJS Playlist
  3. Asynchronous JavaScript Playlist (I have only gone through 3 videos in the playlist)

All these playlists are great for beginners and very friendly and easy. Once I understand this stuff I will be learning REST API from the same channel. It has a great week for me learning things that are really good. My next few weeks are full of exams. So I spent a lot of time in learning some other things for my exam which include XML and DTD and also I spent some time in problem solving and analysis.
